PS 119 You Don't Have To Know It All To Help Others

In this episode I share why you do not need to be perfect to deliver value in your tutoring or education business. Waiting until you are ready delays the impact you could be making now.

I explain how showing up, learning as you go and taking action can build confidence, improve your services and accelerate business growth.

Enjoy :-)

Sumantha:

You can still deliver incredible value while learning yourself. Waiting until you are ready often delays the impact you could be making now. Now, I'm not saying that you should create something and charge people money if you don't really have the substance to deliver on the promise that you are promising them. That's not what I'm saying, but staying curious and always learning is a really good thing. And if we wait to know it all, we'll probably never get there. When I started, I didn't have a perfect system, but I could still help my clients achieve the results they wanted, and it's because they didn't need me to know everything and have everything perfect and everything in place.

Sumantha:

They needed me to listen, guide, and care, and keep learning myself. I've worked with tutors who hesitated to launch a new service because they thought they needed a year of preparation. In fact, I was speaking to someone the other day who said that he was fine doing one-to-ones, but wanted to know more before he ran groups. And you know, we sometimes make these assumptions, but when my clients in those sorts of situations have finally taken that leap, they were more confident. Their clients were delighted. They got great feedback and that's actually helped them evolve and to keep learning much faster and to feel confident much faster.

Sumantha:

So I'm sharing this because I think it's an important reminder that your clients don't need perfection. They need your presence. They need you to show up and your best growth often comes from doing the work in real time alongside the people that you are helping because then often you can be really responsive. So where are you holding back because you think you need to be further along or things need to be more perfect. What would happen if you started now with what you have?
