Comparison is sneaky. You scroll, you listen, you watch, and suddenly it can feel like everyone else is further ahead. They are more confident, more organised, more successful. But the truth is, no one is sharing the full picture, myself included.
Sumantha:Just because someone seems further ahead does not mean your business is behind. Everyone is on their own timeline, and that timeline is valid. We create things that suit us and where we are right now, and someone else’s apparent success may not reflect your journey.
Sumantha:Sometimes people can do things you cannot because their lifestyle is different. I remember a client who felt defeated watching other tutors get more students and sales. She compared herself constantly and felt like she was behind.
Sumantha:During our call, I reminded her why she started her tutoring business. At the time, she wanted to be present with her family while her children were very young. I asked if she had achieved that, and she said yes. That’s real success.
Sumantha:You are successful because you are ticking the boxes that matter to you. You are not behind another business. If you feel like you are not doing enough, ask yourself who you are comparing yourself to and what really matters to you.
Sumantha:Progress does not always have to be loud. Sometimes it is quiet and steady. Sometimes it looks like rest or trying again. Growth is not binary; it is about being in the right place for you right now.
